An excessive heat warning has been extended for much of the Bay Area through late Friday night, as a late season heat wave continues to bring hot temperatures to the region, some of which have been record-breaking.

Temperatures are soaring across much of California this week, with temperatures forecast to reach 114 degrees in some regions.

It may be autumn, but Southern California is enduring another heat wave as unseasonably warm temperatures dominate the forecast.
