"WWE NXT" made its broadcast television debut on Tuesday, and the network change paid off so much so that The CW put out a press release touting the numbers.
WWE’s NXT Viewership Jumps 44% in CW Debut
It was announced in November 2023 that NXT would be moving from USA to The CW in a five-year deal valued at $20 million-$25 million a year. NXT is the brainchild of Paul “Triple H” Levesque, who now serves as WWE’s chief content officer. The show is currently overseen by Shawn Michaels, himself a WWE Hall of Famer with a legendary in-ring career.

Last week, SmackDown went head-to-head with its old network’s telecast of the Washington-Rutgers game, prevailing in the 18-49 demo with 602,000 viewers (compared to 512,000 for Fox’s Big 10 football coverage).
