Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s plans for his future in NASCAR are uncertain as he transitions to a prominent broadcasting role in 2025.

Dale Jr. couldn’t see his dash but finished seventh anyways at Bristol in his first NASCAR race in nearly a year.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. reflects on what may have been his final lap in the NASCAR Xfinity Series under the lights at Bristol Motor Speedway, Tennessee. Despite facing numerous communication issues, Earnhardt Jr. finished the race in a respectable seventh-place finish.

When Josh Berry left to run NASCAR full-time in 2020, it left an opening in their successful Super Late Model program and Kvapil took it to back-to-back CARS Tour championships in 2022 and 2023. He would have been in the hunt for a third straight championship this season but he got the call to run a series of Xfinity Series races.

“I’m not planning on racing next year,” Earnhardt said of the Xfinity Series. “I’ll be foolish to say I’m never going to run again because I don’t know well enough to stay away from it, and I’ll probably miss it next year and be absolutely willing to sign up for anything that might be beneficial to JR Motorsports.”
